Terms of Use

Welcome. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Living Tantra Institute website, courses, teacher certification programs, retreats, immersions, recordings, and related content and services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who We Are

Living Tantra Institute offers education in embodied contemplative practice rooted in the traditions of Kashmir Shaivism and Tamil Śaiva Siddhānta, including online study, in-person immersion, and teacher certification.

2. Eligibility

The Services are for adults 18 years of age or older.

3. Not Medical, Psychological, or Therapeutic Care

Our offerings are educational and experiential. They are not medical care, psychotherapy, or a substitute for treatment by a licensed professional. If you have a physical or mental health condition, consult your healthcare provider before participating in movement, breathwork, or intensive contemplative practice. You are responsible for working within your own capacity and for informing facilitators of anything that affects your safe participation.

4. Assumption of Risk

Practices offered through the Services — including yoga, breathwork, movement, and retreat participation — involve physical and emotional engagement. You participate voluntarily and at your own risk. In-person programs may require a separate signed waiver and health disclosure before attendance.

5. Enrollment, Payment, and Refunds

Prices, schedules, and program details are stated at the point of registration. Payment is due at enrollment unless a payment plan is offered. Refund and transfer terms for each course, retreat, or immersion are stated on its registration page; where none are stated, fees are non-refundable but may be transferable to a future offering at our discretion. We may cancel or reschedule a program, in which case you will receive a transfer or refund of program fees paid.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, recordings, manuals, texts, translations, workbooks, and other content provided through the Services are the property of Living Tantra Institute or its licensors and are protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use them for your own study. You may not copy, distribute, publish, sell, or teach from these materials outside the scope of your enrollment or a signed teacher agreement.

7. Certification and Teaching

Completion of a course does not by itself confer authorization to teach under the Living Tantra name. Certification levels, requirements, and teaching permissions are governed by the certification standards and teacher agreement in effect at the time, and certification may be conditioned, suspended, or withdrawn for conduct inconsistent with those standards.

8. Recordings

Live sessions may be recorded for enrolled participants and teaching archives. By participating in a recorded session, you consent to the capture of your voice and image within the session. You may keep your camera off or request accommodation. You may not record sessions yourself or share session recordings with anyone outside the program.

9. Community Conduct and Confidentiality

Our programs depend on a respectful and confidential container. You agree to treat other participants with respect, to keep personal material shared by others within the program confidential, and to refrain from harassment, solicitation, or disruptive behavior. We may remove any participant who violates this standard, without refund.

10. Your Content

If you submit reflections, testimonials, or other content to us, you retain ownership, and you grant us permission to use it to deliver the Services. We will not publish your testimonial or personal story publicly without your consent.

11. Third-Party Services

The Services may link to or rely on third-party platforms (payment processors, video hosting, scheduling tools). Those services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

12. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Living Tantra Institute and its teachers, facilitators, and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the offering giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montana, unless the parties agree to mediation or arbitration first.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective date, and continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
